JRadar

All apps require a verified JWGeotech account and acceptance of the current Terms. Opening or reloading the app requires an internet connection to verify sign-in. An already authenticated tab can continue through temporary outages until its verified session expires; Browser and Native solving in JSlope and JRunout retain their licence requirements. Sign-out or session expiry locks the workspace and retains unsaved work in the tab. Signing in does not upload local project files.

JRadar is a free radar visibility and monitoring coverage planner. Open JRadar. Sign-in with a free account is required; terrain, calculations and project files remain on your computer.

Start a study

1. Explore the demonstration pit, or use File → Import Terrain....
2. Choose Place radar, then click a terrain point. Set the antenna height, bearing and tilt in Radar Properties.
3. Open Radar specifications…, select a configuration, review its source basis and choose Apply. Enter any unknown scan-envelope values.
4. Under Monitoring plan → Visible slope, choose distance, vector loss or spatial resolution.
5. Save a portable study with File → Save or Ctrl+S.

Workspace controls

Right drag rotates, middle button drag pans, and the scroll wheel zooms. Left-click selects terrain for the active tool; left drag does not move the camera. F zooms to the terrain extents; C picks a rotation centre without moving the camera. Escape cancels picking. View from radar looks from the selected antenna. Query slope reads coordinates and the active map value; Inspect sightline opens a cross-section.

Use View → Light / Dark / System to choose the appearance mode. Use View → Configure Themes... for the shared JWG theme editor. Apply commits preferences; Cancel discards the preview. Appearance changes do not edit the study. Help → Documentation (F1) opens this guide in a separate tab; the account control opens account controls for portal sign-in.
