Cloud Materials
Load saved material, support and rock catalogs from your account into a project.
Cloud Materials brings the material packages saved in your JWG account into a
JSlope project. A package is a versioned snapshot of the material, support and
falling-rock catalogs of a .jws project. Create packages on the portal's
Cloud Materials page: personal packages are private to you, and
organisation owners and admins publish organisation packages, optionally in
categories. JSlope lists your personal packages and the packages of the
active organisation. No paid licence is required.
Cloud Materials needs you to be signed in. The catalogs a project loads are saved inside the project. Workspace admission still requires verified online sign-in; Cloud processing requires a connection.
Load packages into a project
Open Cloud Materials from the left rail, or choose Cloud Materials… in the Define Properties dialog.
- Under Available packages, select the packages to use. Personal packages are listed first, then your organisation's categories and uncategorised packages. Right-click a package and choose Preview to inspect it read-only.
- Order the Enabled packages by dragging them, or with Move Up and Move Down on the right-click menu. Their materials are added in this order.
- Under Import Type, choose which catalogs to load: Materials, Supports and Rocks.
- Set Import Mode. Replace swaps the project's catalogs for the packages' entries; Append keeps the project's own entries and adds the packages' entries after them.
- Choose Apply Changes.
Applying updates every scenario. Regions and supports whose material is no longer in the catalog are reassigned to the first entry, and existing results become stale. When a package has a newer revision than the one the project loaded, the enabled package shows Update; choose Apply Changes to load it.
Rocks and materials with Rockfall properties are available to verified accounts during early access.
New documents
When you are signed in, each new JSlope document, including the document JSlope opens at startup when there is no autosaved project, starts with your Cloud Materials packages:
- every available package that contains materials, in the order of the Available packages list;
- loaded as Materials with Replace, so they take the place of the default materials;
- listed under Enabled packages, where you can change them and apply again.
The status bar reports how many packages were loaded. Opened and imported files are never changed, and nothing is loaded into a document you have already started editing.
This is an account setting. To turn it off, clear Load my Cloud Materials packages in new JSlope documents under Preferences on the portal's Account page and choose Save preferences. New documents then start with the default materials. The setting is on by default.
Signed out or offline
Without a session or a connection, new documents start with the default materials and JSlope shows no prompt. Sign in and use the Cloud Materials pane to load packages later.
