JMapper

Getting started

Create a local project and map your first demonstration trace.

Open JMapper and choose File → Explore Demonstration to try a prepared surface, or create a project and choose File → Import OBJ.... Project Explorer and input tools are on the left, the rock surface is in the centre, the stereonet is on the right, and Measurements spans the bottom of the workspace.

  1. Apply Calibration or preview and apply Control Points registration before reporting orientations and metres.
  2. Choose Trace and pick at least three points on one model's original surface.
  3. Choose Finish Mapping. Inspect the fitted result and diagnostics in Details.
  4. Select its row or stereonet pole to see the linked selection in the other views.
  5. Choose Save to create a portable .jmap file.

An area outline fits a closed picked boundary and reports its perimeter; it does not calculate enclosed surface area. Autosave is browser recovery, not a saved portable file.

Use Workspace and navigation for camera controls and shortcuts.
