Spacing and length analysis

Project a structural set onto a reference plane and inspect intervals and exclusions.

Choose Spacing & Length Analysis... in Analysis and select a confirmed set. The active measurement's set is preferred. Temporarily exclude members as needed, rotate the reference plane around its mean pole, or adjust its normal offset. Reset automatic plane restores the automatic position.

The plot shows lateral position horizontally and true-spacing direction vertically. Click to select, Ctrl-click to toggle, middle/right drag to pan, and use the wheel to zoom. The reference plane appears in the model while results are current. Hover over records to inspect names and projected spans.

Review input, projected and excluded counts before interpreting mean orientation, angular RMS, coverage, frequency, spacing distributions, trace length and length-to-spacing ratio. Weak fits or degenerate projections produce warnings or explicit exclusions.

Analysis uses fitted centres, original vertices and effective orientation overrides. Manual halo centres do not move analysis geometry. Effective radii contribute to radius statistics. Outlines participate in spacing, but their perimeter is excluded from trace-length statistics.

CSV export contains summary, measurement, interval and exclusion records with full precision, reference-plane axes/origin and north reference. Resolve unavailable reporting conversions before exporting.
