Mapping and measurements

Create traces and outlines, edit measurements and inspect their original geometry.

Choose Trace or Area Outline, then pick at least three original-surface points and choose Finish Mapping. The first pick locks the target model. Trace measurements fit the open picked polyline; outlines fit a closed boundary and report its perimeter.

New measurements start grey. Change an unassigned measurement's colour in Details. Assigning a set displays the set colour; removing the assignment restores the measurement's individual colour. Existing saved colours are preserved.

Select a measurement to inspect notes, vertices and fit diagnostics in Details. Geometry editing changes the picked measurement geometry. Dip and direction overrides change its effective orientation. Halo XYZ and radius edits change the halo only; original picks and fitted diagnostics remain unchanged.

The table displays at most three decimals without trailing zeros. Calculations, clipboard values, saved projects and exports retain full precision. Focusing an unchanged rounded field does not commit a rounded value. Invalid drafts stay visible until corrected or discarded.

Ctrl-click and Shift-click select multiple rows for visibility, set assignment, resetting values or deletion. Selection contains visibility and selection commands; Assign set assigns a set or removes the assignment. Edit contains Rename, Reset values and Delete. Rename and the direct Details button operate on one measurement.

The Filters panel contains Set, Type and Status groups. Choose multiple values within a group; the groups combine to narrow the results. All sets, All types and All statuses clear their respective groups, and Clear filters clears all three. Changes apply immediately without closing the panel. The Filters label counts active groups. Selecting a pole does not clear filters; Table > Reveal selected clears them and reveals the active row.

Measurement actions and table controls are separated by a vertical divider. The toolbar fits on one line at desktop and compact widths, with no horizontal scrolling; below 620 px its groups may wrap. Counts remain beside the controls, with complete text in a tooltip when space is limited. The table fills the space below it. Halo X/Y/Z heading tooltips identify the coordinate frame and CRS.

Click a column heading to cycle ascending, descending and original order. Drag a separator, or focus it and use arrow keys, to resize columns; Table > Reset widths restores their initial widths. Tab moves between logical editable cells, including offscreen rows. Sorting uses full-precision values.

Removing a model retains its measurements as detached read-only records. Isolate Selected temporarily reveals the captured selection without editing saved visibility; Restore Visibility restores the current project visibility settings.
