Material, Units, and Navigation
Topbar controls, material metadata, sidebar navigation, and numeric input behavior.
Topbar
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| File | Creates, opens, and saves project files; Export… saves chart data and images. |
| View | Shows panels, resets the layout, selects Light/Dark/System, and opens Configure Themes. |
| Edit | Undo and Redo reverse durable engineering-data edits, leaving transient layout state unchanged; the top-bar buttons do the same. Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete and Select All act on the selected cells of the visible Calibration table. |
| Configure | Opens Project Settings (Apply commits, Cancel discards) and selects stress units. |
| Previews current charts and generates active-material or whole-project engineering PDFs. | |
| Help → Documentation | Opens this website manual in a new tab, leaving your app workspace open. |
| Calibration | Opens the selected material’s calibration data and diagnostics in a movable window. |
| Stress Units | Switches stress display and input fields between MPa and kPa. |

Material Metadata
| Input | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Material label used in the chart legend and Results panel header. Empty names display as Rock. |
| Color | Primary curve color for the selected material in both charts. |
Layout Controls
Materials stays visible at the top of the left sidebar. The 48 px rail switches the lower pane between Strength, Failure Range, and Plot Settings. Clicking the active button collapses only the inputs. Material name and colour are edited in Strength.
The sidebar starts at 320 px wide and resizes from 300 to 560 px. Materials starts at 160 px high; drag the horizontal divider to adjust the split or focus it and use arrow keys. Materials cannot shrink below 128 px at normal desktop heights. Input forms fit a 1366 × 768 viewport at the default split and width; smaller windows, expanded warnings and long lists scroll within their panels.
Results appear in the resizable right sidebar. View → Results hides or restores it. View → Reset Layout restores Materials above Strength, the default split and width, and visible Results. Charts use the full centre height, sitting side by side when the centre is at least 640 px wide and stacking in narrower regions.
The Calibration action in the top menu bar opens a movable, resizable window. Charts and menus remain usable while it is open. Close or minimise the window without losing data or stopping a fit; reopen it to see progress, or use Cancel to stop the fit. Successful fits remain previews until Accept applies them.
Input Panes
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Strength | Select the failure criterion and edit criterion parameters. |
| Failure Range | Set the engineering stress range used by envelope calculations and optional overlays. |
| Plot Settings | Control the active material's envelope range, project-global axes, tick spacing, and axis decimals. |
Configure Themes
Open Configure Themes from View or with Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+T. Light and Dark profiles have independent presets, fonts, five seed colours, contrast, and glass settings. The editor previews changes immediately. Apply saves them; Cancel, Escape, or Close restores the baseline. Editing the Dark profile does not change the saved mode. Each colour reset returns to the selected preset. Partial hex colours revert on blur. Liquid Glass can be disabled for a solid interface.
Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+D toggles Light/Dark, Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+0 selects System, and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+T opens Configure Themes. Shortcuts are suspended inside editors and dialogs. Minimise a floating window with its title button and restore it from the status bar. Theme preferences are local to this browser and independent of project JSON, autosave and undo. Chart image exports and engineering PDFs always use a light palette.
Numeric Inputs
Numeric fields commit changes on blur or Enter. Escape restores the previous valid value. Invalid entries are highlighted and reset to a valid value when focus leaves the field. Integer fields round to whole numbers.
Comparing materials
Both charts overlay all visible materials; the input panes and Results describe the active material. Use the eye control to hide a curve without deleting the material. Material and calibration lists are virtualized, and a readability warning appears when more than 20 curves are visible.
