Plot Settings and Chart Export

Saved plot settings, temporary navigation, crosshair values, and CSV/SVG/PNG export.

Charts

Chartx-axisy-axis
Principal Stress PlotMinor principal stress sigma3Major principal stress sigma1
Normal/Shear StressNormal stress sigma_nShear strength tau

Each chart has an independent temporary viewport. Use the wheel around the pointer or the plus/minus controls to zoom, and drag to pan both axes. Arrow keys pan a focused chart, plus/minus zoom, and 0 or a double-click resets to saved settings. Temporary navigation is neither autosaved nor included in Undo/Redo and resets when saved settings or plotted engineering data change.

Hover or focus to show x/y coordinates and interpolated values for all visible series. On touch devices, tap to lock the crosshair and use Unlock or Escape to clear it.

Plot Settings

ControlDescription
Automatic envelope rangeScoped to the active material. Its numeric bounds are derived synchronously from current material inputs and are not saved in automatic mode.
Plot stress Min / MaxManual envelope range for the active material. The bounds are saved only in manual mode.
Automatic axesProject-global. Derives full extents and tick intervals for both charts from the plotted series; derived bounds and tick intervals are not saved.
Axis SettingsProject-global manual x/y min, max, and tick spacing for principal and normal/shear charts.
Decimal PlacesControls axis label decimal places from 0 to 6.
Revert plot settings to default (reset icon beside Axis Labels)Restores automatic envelope range for the active material, automatic global axes, and zero decimal places.

Envelope range and axes are independent: a material can use a manual envelope range with automatic global axes, or the reverse. Temporary chart viewports remain separate from both saved settings.

Chart Export

Each chart title includes an export menu. CSV contains finite sampled rows in the active unit. SVG and 2x PNG use the current temporary viewport and include title, axes, legend, and series while omitting controls and the transient crosshair.

ColumnDescription
plotprincipal_stress or normal_shear_stress.
seriesMaterial name, Equivalent MC, or Instantaneous MC.
point_indexZero-based index within each series.
x_unitx value in the active stress unit.
y_unity value in the active stress unit.

The dotted gridlines belong to each chart; the surrounding panel has no background grid. Export, zoom, and reset controls share the same compact button size. See exports and reports for printable outputs.
