JLab

Save and recover projects

Manage local JLab project files and unsaved work.

Use File → Open to load a native .jwl project and New to begin another. Unsaved edits prompt Save, Don’t Save, or Cancel; a cancelled or failed save keeps current work open.

Open retains the selected file handle. Save overwrites that file or a previous Save destination; Save As chooses another. Browsers without file-system pickers download instead. New and browser recovery detach the previous file.

The SQLite format uses database schema 1, project payload 2, and calculation version 3. Files retain materials, calibration data and diagnostics, overlays, units, and plot settings. Older JSON, unknown-version, invalid, and oversized files are rejected before changing the open project; the payload limit is 25 MiB.

JLab automatically restores and autosaves the current project in IndexedDB. Recovery is local to its browser origin; transfer work between deployments using a saved file in the same supported native format. Undo and Redo cover engineering data, excluding layout, themes, active tabs, and temporary chart navigation.
