3D Stereonet View
Navigate the 3D stereonet and inspect the relationship between planes and poles.
The 3D Stereonet View shows the hemisphere, projection disk, poles, great circles, density surfaces, and selected kinematic overlays in a 3D scene. Its camera controls are available in Plot Settings.
3D Camera Inputs
| Input | Range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Auto rotate | On/off | Rotates the 3D view automatically when available. |
| Zoom | 25 to 400 percent | Camera zoom. |
| Z Rotation | 0 to 360 degrees | Rotation about the stereonet vertical axis. |
| Horizontal Tilt | -65 to 65 degrees | Camera tilt relative to the horizontal view. |
| Zoom to extents | Button on plot | Fits visible 3D content into view. |
In 3D, left-drag rotates, right-drag tilts, middle-drag pans, and scrolling zooms. A stationary left click selects a pole's source row. The corner button fits the scene to its extents; Reset Camera in Plot Settings restores the default orientation. Stop auto-rotation to inspect pole metadata. The 2D canvas and its camera are retained while 3D view is active.
