Inputs and conventions

Enter geometry, orientation, strength and applicable loading consistently.

Geometry uses metres, forces use kilonewtons, stresses use kilopascals and unit weight uses kilonewtons per cubic metre. Coordinates follow East, North and Up. Enter planes using dip and dip direction; use the labelled trend, plunge and axis-plunge fields for directions.

The left sidebar separates Geometry, Planes, Loads and Options. Available controls depend on the selected mode. Review geometry, planes and sampling, loads and water, and runout options for detailed inputs and assumptions. Loads is unavailable in underground modes.

Commit a numeric edit by leaving its field or pressing Enter. Invalid text remains visible so it can be corrected. Saving and computing are blocked while invalid input drafts remain. Switching or collapsing sidebar panes does not discard those drafts. Use Review drafts and the sidebar Messages section to find issues; the status-bar Messages button reveals the same feedback.

Keep engineering inputs separate from presentation: visibility, view navigation, themes and panel sizes do not change the project calculations.
